RESEARCH
dr john chilver (ASSOCIATE)
My investigations as a painter are concerned with a critical, reflexive engagement with the mark as a means of image-making. In my paintings and objects I address questions of singularity, event structure and strategies of repetition and intervention in historical time.
I also address the same questions as a writer of critical texts, drawing on the theoretical positions of Alain Badiou, Gilles Deleuze, Bernard Stiegler amongst others.
