GWR PhD studentship :
Research examining new tools and methodologies of production for the emergent landscape of "360º media". The primary aim of this project is to develop new software tools for the planning and implementation of media origination fit for a variety of linear and non-linear forms and platforms. The corollary of this is to effectively metatag all generated media in order to simplify archiving and retrieval of assets for repurposing and reuse. This will allow local media businesses and the relevant parts of the HEI community to develop new methodologies, systems and business practices for a multi-platform, multi-disciplinary and multi-domain media.
Epsrc/Ahrc Bid :
This research proposal examines the role of visual creativity in peer-to-peer and mobile networks in locative contexts. It is predicated on the observation and analysis of creative projects undertaken through emergent mobile networks using visual tools. Its starting point is that of audience as creator. The research team will be a multidisciplinary “Creative Cluster” spanning the art, design, ergonomics and HCI / computer science domains.
